Who We Are

The National Organization to Save the Grant Family Farm consists of Steve Wing, Spencer D. Wood, and Waymon Hinson. We are all friends of the Grant family in North Carolina and are committed to helping them as they have helped so many over the years. We created this organization solely to help raise money for the family. We are not paying any salaries, rent, overhead, costs, etc. out of this money. All of our work and expenses are 100% volunteer. We do this gladly because the Grant family stands for something beneficial to us all, freedom and justice.

Our Goals

Overall - Raise $40,000

Steps:
1) Immediately raise one month's payment. ($6,000)
2) Raise an additional one month's payment very soon. ($6,000)
3) Raise the remaining amount before the third payment is due. ($28,000)

How This Works

Technically we are not a non-profit because our goal is to raise money to benefit one particular family. Just like fund raising for victims of fires and tornadoes, we are a social service organization, but not a non-profit. So, we ask that all contributions be gifts, rather than donations. While this does not allow gifts to be tax deductible, it does something much more helpful. It ensures that the Grants will not be taxed on this income. Current law allows individuals to give up to $13,000 per year as a non-taxable gift to any other individual. Therefore, we are soliciting tax-free gifts for the Grant family. Our only unavoidable cost is the 2.9% fee and 30 cents per transaction costs associated with PayPal. This does not come to the organization but is instead taken directly by PayPal as people make their gifts. At most, this will amount to approximately $1,200 if we are successful in raising the $40,000 with most payments coming via PayPal. Gifts made via check and mailed will have no administrative fees.
